Indeed, LPG produces less greenhouse gases than the burning of wood or charcoal.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full\"><img data-dominant-color=\"716863\" data-has-transparency=\"false\" style=\"--dominant-color: #716863;\" decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"600\" height=\"400\" src=\"https:\/\/gbc1.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/04\/LPG-03w-jpg.webp\" alt=\"\" class=\"not-transparent wp-image-20360\" srcset=\"https:\/\/gbc1.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/04\/LPG-03w-jpg.webp 600w, https:\/\/gbc1.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/04\/LPG-03w-300x200.webp 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Stakeholder Engagement to Promote Clean Cooking in Ghana<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n<p>As part of its <a href=\"https:\/\/gbc1.net\/index.php\/tag\/energytransition\/\">#EnergyTransition<\/a> plan, Ghana aims to push the adoption of LPG to 50%, up from 37% in 2024. The use of wood as cooking fuel not only emits carbon dioxide but also destroys forests which could capture the carbon dioxide. Moreover, prolonged exposure to smoke can also lead respiratory complications. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In addition to the LPG plant, the Ghana Cylinder Manufacturing Company will produce and rehabilitate gas cylinders. At the same time, the domestic demand for LPG will provide a stable market for the gas fields.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote\">\n<p>\u201cOur goal is to drastically reduce dependence on charcoal and firewood, which contribute to deforestation and health hazards. LPG is cleaner, more efficient, and aligns with our climate change mitigation strategies.\u201d<\/p>\n<cite>Head of Bio-Energy Unit at Ministry of Energy of Ghana Doris Duodu <\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>The promotion of LPG for cooking is in line with UN <a href=\"https:\/\/gbc1.net\/index.php\/tag\/sdg7\/\">#SDG7<\/a>. It will preserve the forests, improve public health, and foster sustainable development.
