Actually, Ghana is famous for its Gold Coast for the rich supply of gold in that region. Today, as part of the <a href=\"https:\/\/gbc1.net\/index.php\/tag\/energytransition\/\">#EnergyTransition<\/a>, mining companies are shifting their investments to <a href=\"https:\/\/gbc1.net\/index.php\/tag\/criticalminerals\/\">#CriticalMinerals<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In order to keep more benefits locally, Ghana is fostering higher Local Value Addition (<a href=\"https:\/\/gbc1.net\/index.php\/tag\/lva\/\">#LVA<\/a>). Among its recent successes, it is worth highlighting the following mineral LVA projects:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>Manganese refinery by Ghana Manganese Company (GMC)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Gold refinery by Royal Ghana Gold Refinery<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Bauxite smelter by Ghana Bauxite Company<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Spodumene processing plant at Ewoyaa<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full\"><img data-dominant-color=\"949da0\" data-has-transparency=\"false\" style=\"--dominant-color: #949da0;\" decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"600\" height=\"400\" src=\"https:\/\/gbc1.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/04\/Ghana-01w-1-jpg.webp\" alt=\"Ghana Manganese Company\" class=\"not-transparent wp-image-20572\" srcset=\"https:\/\/gbc1.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/04\/Ghana-01w-1-jpg.webp 600w, https:\/\/gbc1.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/04\/Ghana-01w-1-300x200.webp 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Ghana Manganese Company (GMC)<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n<p>The manganese refinery necessitated an investment of nearly USD 400 million. The new gold refinery by Royal Ghana Refinery will require a total investment of nearly USD 100 million and shall have a capacity to output 400 kg of gold daily, which would be worth nearly USD 4 million based on today&#8217;s market price for gold.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In the longer term, Ghana ambitions to become an <a href=\"https:\/\/gbc1.net\/index.php\/tag\/ev\/\">#EV<\/a> battery producer. According to certain estimates, the market for EV will approach USD 9 trillion by 2035. Currently, the value creation in Africa as part of the Global Value Chain (<a href=\"https:\/\/gbc1.net\/index.php\/tag\/gvc\/\">#GVC<\/a>) for Electric Vehicles is dismally low.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Therefore, Ghana is gradually enacting laws and putting in place regulations to foster more local beneficiation of its key minerals.
