The theme of this edition is &#8216;Choose Benin&#8217;.  The Investment and Export Promotion Agency of Benin and the Benin Chamber of Commerce and Industry co-organized the event under a public-private partnership with MTN Benin as the Platinum Sponsor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Some 400 delegates from 30 countries attended the Forum with a mix of policy makers, business people and representatives from regional and international organizations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In 2023, Benin managed to attract USD 434 million in Foreign Direct Investment (<a href=\"https:\/\/gbc1.net\/index.php\/tag\/fdi\/\">#FDI<\/a>). One of the key topics will center on the <a href=\"https:\/\/gbc1.net\/index.php\/tag\/digitaleconomy\/\">#DigitalEconomy<\/a> enabled by the penetration of broadband and the proliferation of smartphones. <\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full\"><img data-dominant-color=\"9674da\" data-has-transparency=\"false\" style=\"--dominant-color: #9674da;\" decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"600\" height=\"400\" src=\"https:\/\/gbc1.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/Benin-01w-1-jpg.webp\" alt=\"\" class=\"not-transparent wp-image-21298\" srcset=\"https:\/\/gbc1.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/Benin-01w-1-jpg.webp 600w, https:\/\/gbc1.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/Benin-01w-1-300x200.webp 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Discussion Panel at 6th Benin Investment Forum <\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n<p>In that respect, MTN Benin plans to invest more than USD 200 million by 2026 to upgrade its telecom network. The plan is to upgrade to #5G and expand the coverage of fixed broadband via <a href=\"https:\/\/gbc1.net\/index.php\/tag\/fttx\/\">#FTTX<\/a>. As part of its expansion plan, MTN Benin will build a new HQ complex in Cotonou.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In his welcome address, the Beninese Minister of Commerce and Industry Shadiya Assouman reiterated the vision of the government to promote more public-private partnerships (<a href=\"https:\/\/gbc1.net\/index.php\/tag\/ppp\/\">#PPP<\/a>). He noted that FDI climbed from USD 150 million in 2015 to USD 434 in 2023, which is very encouraging.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;Benin is ready to welcome new capital, innovation, and to build audacious alliances in order to turn ideas into concrete investments. This Forum is a platform for to business matchmaking between project developers and financiers.
