The lifting of the ban on the export of the most advanced <a href=\"https:\/\/gbc1.net\/index.php\/tag\/ai\/\">#AI<\/a> chip in the world follows the deal reached between the US and China recently after several rounds of negotiations initiated as a result of Trump&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/gbc1.net\/index.php\/tag\/tariffs\/\">#tariffs<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>During his keynote address at the opening ceremony on 16 July 2025, Jensen Huang recounted Nvidia&#8217;s origins as a graphics processor company, igniting the computer gaming industry. Since then, Nvidia has grown to become the most valuable company in the world, with a market cap reaching USD 4 trillion, surpassing other giants such as Apple ($3.3T), Microsoft ($2.8T) and Google ($2T).<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full\"><img data-dominant-color=\"848a80\" data-has-transparency=\"false\" style=\"--dominant-color: #848a80;\" decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"600\" height=\"400\" src=\"https:\/\/gbc1.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/Nvidia-02w-jpg.webp\" alt=\"\" class=\"not-transparent wp-image-23710\" srcset=\"https:\/\/gbc1.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/Nvidia-02w-jpg.webp 600w, https:\/\/gbc1.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/Nvidia-02w-300x200.webp 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Nvidia Stand at the China International Supply Chain 2025<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n<p>Nvidia is heavily invested in the Chinese market with offices in Beijing, Shanghai, Shenzhen and Hong Kong. The total employee count is about 4,000, with half of the total based in Shanghai.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In terms of sale, Nvidia generated 13% of its sale from China, amounting to approximately USD 17 billion for fiscal year (FY) 2024. Due to the US export restrictions, sales to China dropped from a high of 21% in FY2023. Therefore, the lifting of the restrictions is expected to give a significant boost to Nvidia&#8217;s sales in China.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Nvidia <a href=\"https:\/\/gbc1.net\/index.php\/tag\/chips\/\">#chips<\/a> power several Chinese AI models such as Deepseek, Alibaba&#8217;s Qwen, Moonshot Kimi, to name a few. Moreover, Nvidia allows Bytedance&#8217;s to push video clips based on a user&#8217;s preference as determined by an AI engine. Additionally, Nvidia is partnering with Xiaomi on autonomous vehicles and UBTech on humanoid robots.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed aligncenter is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Hear Jensen Huang&#039;s FULL interview with CCTV News as NVIDIA resumes H20 chip shipments to China\" width=\"800\" height=\"450\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/tGPz-uhwH9Q?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Observers noted that in exchange, China has agreed to lift the ban on certain rare earth elements (REE) to the US. The <a href=\"https:\/\/gbc1.net\/index.php\/tag\/ree\/\">#REE<\/a> are essential for electronics, automotive and even defense.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In an interview with Bloomberg on 15 July 2025, US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent stated that the Nvidia export controls are &#8216;a negotiating chip in the larger US-China trade talks.&#8217; On the same day, US Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick corroborated that the resumption of Nvidia&#8217;s AI chip sales to China was part of the deal involving magnets made from rare earths.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In a related development, AMD also clarified that it also expects to be able to sell its top-of-the-line <a href=\"https:\/\/gbc1.net\/index.php\/tag\/ai\/\">#AI<\/a> chip to China soon.
