The event acts as a prelude to the SADC Summit 2025 which is scheduled to take place on 17 August 2025. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The theme of the <a href=\"https:\/\/gbc1.net\/index.php\/event\/45th-sadc-summit-2025\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">45th SADC Summit 2025<\/a>  is &#8220;<em>Promoting Industrialization, Agricultural Transformation, and Energy Transition for a Resilient SADC<\/em> &#8220;. Some 500 delegates from 24 countries have registered to participate in <a href=\"https:\/\/gbc1.net\/index.php\/tag\/siw2025\/\">#SIW2025<\/a>. It is to be recalled that the <a href=\"http:\/\/SADC.int\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">SADC<\/a> regroups 16 countries in Southern Africa.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The expo component of the <a href=\"https:\/\/gbc1.net\/index.php\/tag\/siw2025\/\">#SIW2025<\/a> has seen the presence of more than 100 stands from all over <a href=\"https:\/\/gbc1.net\/index.php\/tag\/sadc\/\">#SADC<\/a>. During the week long event, it is estimated that more than 3,000 visitors who will attend the SIW2025.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full\"><img data-dominant-color=\"264186\" data-has-transparency=\"false\" style=\"--dominant-color: #264186;\" decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" src=\"https:\/\/gbc1.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/SIW2025-01W-jpg.webp\" alt=\"\" class=\"not-transparent wp-image-24170\" srcset=\"https:\/\/gbc1.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/SIW2025-01W-jpg.webp 640w, https:\/\/gbc1.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/SIW2025-01W-300x169.webp 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 640px) 100vw, 640px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n<p>In his welcome keynote, Malagasy President Andry Rajoelina underlined that his national priorities rest on agricultural mechanization and energy reforms. The high cost of electricity is acting as a brake to the <a href=\"https:\/\/gbc1.net\/index.php\/tag\/industrialization\/\">#industrialization<\/a> of Madagascar and the country is also promoting the <a href=\"https:\/\/gbc1.net\/index.php\/tag\/energytransition\/\">#EnergyTransition<\/a>. Similarly, Madagascar is a mainly agrarian society and crop productivity will enhance <a href=\"https:\/\/gbc1.net\/index.php\/tag\/foodsecurity\/\">#FoodSecurity<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>SADC Deputy Executive Secretary Angele N&#8217;Tumba pointed out that industrial output in SADC only makes up 13% of the collective GDP. This means most SADC member states are still at the stage of exporting raw minerals and unprocessed agricultural produce with little local value addition (<a href=\"https:\/\/gbc1.net\/index.php\/tag\/lva\/\">#LVA<\/a>). In that regard, SADC had issued the <strong>SADC Industrialization Strategy and Roadmap 2015-2063<\/strong> which is the blueprint to integrate Africa into the global supply chain (<a href=\"https:\/\/gbc1.net\/index.php\/tag\/gsc\/\">#GSC<\/a>) while moving up the global value chain (<a href=\"https:\/\/gbc1.net\/index.php\/tag\/gvc\/\">#GVC<\/a>).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed aligncenter is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"SADC Deputy Executive Secretary, Ms. Angele Makombo N&#039;Tumba on the 8th SADC Industrialisation Week\" width=\"800\" height=\"450\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/OlznW7Zot6Y?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>As for the Malagasy Minister of Industry and Commerce David Ralambofiringa, he could not hide his pride that Madagascar is hosting a regional event of such scale in its history. He underscored that Madagascar&#8217;s commitment to transform its economic structure while ensuring inclusivity, sustainability and sovereignty.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/gbc1.net\/index.php\/tag\/siw2025\/\">#SIW2025<\/a> is co-organized by the Malagasy Ministry of Industry &amp; Commerce, the Malagasy Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the Madagascar Industry Syndicate. The inclusion of the Syndicate underlines the excellent Public-Private Partnership (<a href=\"https:\/\/gbc1.net\/index.php\/tag\/ppp\/\">#PPP<\/a>) prevailing in Madagascar.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Malagasy Minister of Foreign Affairs Rasata Rafaravavitafika highlighted the need for regional integration and cooperation for a successful industrialization and to boost trade.
