With a total capacity of 2.6 GW, it becomes the largest PV facility in the Middle-East. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Project was a partnership among ACWA Power, China Energy (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.ceec.net.cn\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">CEEC<\/a>), and the Water and Electricity Holding Company (Badeel). The installation of more than five million PV panels took just eight months. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The solar farm employs cutting-edge N-type bifacial <a href=\"https:\/\/gbc1.net\/index.php\/tag\/pv\/\">#PV<\/a> modules and incorporates single-axis solar tracking systems to maximize efficiency and output. It also  integrates the latest digital technologies to operation and control of the generation and inversion. The PV modules are kept clean from the desert dust by intelligent specialized wipers.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full\"><img data-dominant-color=\"9da7bb\" data-has-transparency=\"false\" style=\"--dominant-color: #9da7bb;\" decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"600\" height=\"400\" src=\"https:\/\/gbc1.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/Shuaibah-03w-jpg.webp\" alt=\"\" class=\"not-transparent wp-image-27141\" srcset=\"https:\/\/gbc1.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/Shuaibah-03w-jpg.webp 600w, https:\/\/gbc1.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/Shuaibah-03w-300x200.webp 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n<p>During its operational lifetime of 35 years, it is projected to produce 282 billion kWh of electricity. The solar farm will offset nearly 20 million <a href=\"https:\/\/gbc1.net\/index.php\/tag\/tco2\/\">#tCO2<\/a> annually, which is equivalent to the carbon fixation capacity of 545 million trees.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Al-Shuaibah Solar Project is in line with <a href=\"https:\/\/gbc1.net\/index.php\/tag\/saudiarabiavision2030\/\">#SaudiArabiaVision2030<\/a> which has as one of its strategic goals to reduce dependency on fossil fuels, to boost the <a href=\"https:\/\/gbc1.net\/index.php\/tag\/energytransition\/\">#EnergyTransition<\/a>, and to achieve the Nationally Determined Contributions (<a href=\"https:\/\/gbc1.net\/index.php\/tag\/ndc\/\">#NDC<\/a>). Saudi Arabia plans to invest approximately USD 8.3 billion to develop 15 GW of renewable energy projects by 2030.
