Over the next five years from 2026 to 2030, the US will provide USD 792 million, while Malawi will contribute USD 144 million to enhance the health system in Malawi.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote\">\n<p>&#8220;The MoU is designed to leverage Malawi&#8217;s significant progress in addressing the HIV\/AIDS epidemic, supporting the country&#8217;s commitment to maintaining its 95-95-95 goals for epidemic control through sustainable, integrated service delivery approaches that the government will self-maintian after the MoU concludes.&#8221;<\/p>\n<cite>US State Dept.Deputy Spokersperson Tommy Pigott <\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/gbc1.net\/index.php\/tag\/americafirst\/\">#AmericaFirst<\/a> Global Health Strategy aims to protect the US from infectious diseases while empowering recipient countries to strive for self-reliance and better accountability. Thus, the US will support Malawi&#8217;s 95-95-95 goals for epidemic control, targeting the most prevalent diseases such as HIV\/AIDS, TB, and malaria. The America First Global Health Strategy is the new approach adopted by the US in lieu of health programs previously delivered by USAID.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote\">\n<p>&#8220;Since the US aid cut about a year ago, we have struggled to fund certain initiatives in the health sector. This bilateral agreement, therefore, is going to ease most of our health challenges.&#8221;<\/p>\n<cite>Malawi Health Minister Madalitso Baloyi<\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>In addition, the US and Malawi will collaborate on maternal and child health, polio, and other significant health issues in Malawi.
