{"id":315,"date":"2022-11-26T06:08:48","date_gmt":"2022-11-26T06:08:48","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/gbc1.net\/?p=315"},"modified":"2023-07-09T00:52:04","modified_gmt":"2023-07-09T00:52:04","slug":"china-and-au-hold-dialogue-on-pida","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/gbc1.net\/index.php\/2022\/11\/26\/china-and-au-hold-dialogue-on-pida\/","title":{"rendered":"China and AU Hold Dialogue on PIDA"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>On 25 November 2022, the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the African Union (AU) jointly hosted a roundtable discussion around the <a title=\"\" href=\"http:\/\/www.au-pida.org\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Programme for Infrastructure Development in Arica (PIDA)<\/a>, with a focus on East Africa for this session. <\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"600\" height=\"381\" src=\"https:\/\/gbc1.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/11\/WU-Peng-01-w.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-319\" srcset=\"https:\/\/gbc1.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/11\/WU-Peng-01-w.jpg 600w, https:\/\/gbc1.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/11\/WU-Peng-01-w-300x191.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">WU Peng, Regional Director for Africa at Chinese Foreign Ministry<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n<p>In addition to traditional infrastructure projects such as roads, railways and ports, the Chinese FM Regional Director for Africa WU Peng proposed to explore partnerships in new areas such as <a href=\"https:\/\/gbc1.net\/index.php\/tag\/smartcity\/\">#SmartCity<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/gbc1.net\/index.php\/tag\/digitaltransformation\/\">#DigitalTransformation<\/a>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On the other hand, the AU Chief Representative in China Rahamtalla Osman highlighted the need to promote <a href=\"https:\/\/gbc1.net\/index.php\/tag\/sdg\/\">#SDG<\/a> as Africa develops rapidly and resolutely steps onto an industrialization pathway in line with <a href=\"https:\/\/gbc1.net\/index.php\/tag\/agenda2063\/\">#Agenda2063<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The roundtable took place in hybrid mode and was attended by Ambassadors and Economic Counsellors of several East African countries in Beijing.
