On 29 January 2026, a delegation from Dangote Group arrived in Harare to implement the cooperation MoU signed in November 2025<\/a>. Among the projects, the delegation will discuss the implementation of cement manufacturing, power generation, and related infrastructure, including a regional oil pipeline, which is the piece de resistance. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Two weeks ago, Dangote Group opened an office in Harare and appointed Josephine Mahachi as its head of business development in Zimbabwe. Mahachi facilitated the investment agreement via a financing deal with Bard Santner Inc., led by top banker Senziwani Sikhosana. Previously, Josephine Mahachi worked at Deutsche Welle and Click Africa to provide positive and balanced narratives on the emerging continent.<\/p>\n\n\n

The Dangote delegation includes geologists and plans to assess areas with limestone deposits. Limestone is a key ingredient in the production of cement. The delegation will also have a working session with the Minister of Mines, Polite Kambamura.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dangote Cement, a subsidiary of Dangote Group, is a leading cement producer in Africa. It operates in ten African countries. Its combined production is about 55 million tonnes annually, and the company is ranked as the top cement producer in Sub-Saharan Africa.
