The order is estimated at around USD 1.5 billion based on list prices.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The 737-8 MAX boasts a 20% in carbon emissions compared to its older version, thanks to greater fuel efficiency. The full delivery will be completed by 2030.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full\"><img data-dominant-color=\"9e9e99\" data-has-transparency=\"false\" style=\"--dominant-color: #9e9e99;\" decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"600\" height=\"400\" src=\"https:\/\/gbc1.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/DAS-01w-jpg.webp\" alt=\"\" class=\"not-transparent wp-image-34674\" srcset=\"https:\/\/gbc1.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/DAS-01w-jpg.webp 600w, https:\/\/gbc1.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/DAS-01w-300x200.webp 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n<p>On 18 November 2025, Ethiopian Airlines then announced the procurement of six Airbus 350-900. Again, the A350-900 offers a 25% reduction in green house gases (<a href=\"https:\/\/gbc1.net\/index.php\/tag\/ghg\/\">#GHG<\/a>) compared to its previous generation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>At the Dubai Airshow 2025, Ethiopian Airlines also signed an agreement with Collins Aerospace to install premium lie-flat business class seats on eleven of its Airbus A350 jets.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full\"><img data-dominant-color=\"d9d6d4\" data-has-transparency=\"false\" style=\"--dominant-color: #d9d6d4;\" decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" src=\"https:\/\/gbc1.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/DAS-02W-jpg.webp\" alt=\"\" class=\"not-transparent wp-image-34678\" srcset=\"https:\/\/gbc1.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/DAS-02W-jpg.webp 640w, https:\/\/gbc1.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/DAS-02W-300x169.webp 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 640px) 100vw, 640px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n<p>The Boeing 737 is a narrow-body aircraft with a single aisle, while the Airbus 350 is a wide-body aircraft with twin aisles. Based on cabin configuration, the passenger capacity of the Boeing 737 is about 200, while the Airbus A350 can accommodate over 300. The 737 is a mid-haul jet with a range of about 6,500 kilometers, while A350 is a long-haul jet that can travel 15,000 kilometers. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Thus, Ethiopian Airlines plans to deploy the 737 on regional and intra-African routes, while the A350 will serve intercontinental and long-haul ones. To enhance comfort and reduce jet lag, the A350 has lower noise levels, larger windows and higher humidity. These aircrafts can run on a mix with up to 50% of Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF).<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full\"><img data-dominant-color=\"68addc\" data-has-transparency=\"false\" style=\"--dominant-color: #68addc;\" decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" src=\"https:\/\/gbc1.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/A350-W-jpg.webp\" alt=\"\" class=\"not-transparent wp-image-34682\" srcset=\"https:\/\/gbc1.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/A350-W-jpg.webp 640w, https:\/\/gbc1.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/A350-W-300x169.webp 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 640px) 100vw, 640px\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Airbus A350-900<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n<p>The acquisition of these aircrafts is in line with Ethiopian Airlines strategy encapsulated in its <a href=\"https:\/\/gbc1.net\/index.php\/tag\/vision2035\/\">#Vision2035<\/a>. Central to this strategy is the expansion of the destination route network while mitigating its carbon footprint.
