US Assistant Secretary of State Frank Garcia and AUC Commissioner for Economic Development Francisca Belobe co-chaired the meeting. The Corporate Council on Africa (CCA) was also represented by its Chair, Florie Liser.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It is to be recalled that the <a href=\"https:\/\/gbc1.net\/index.php\/tag\/siwg\/\">#SIWG<\/a> was officially launched in Addis Ababa in January of this year. Broadly speaking, the Working Group seeks to mobilize American private capital in a bid to narrow the financing gap for infrastructure development in Africa.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full\"><img data-dominant-color=\"584a49\" data-has-transparency=\"false\" style=\"--dominant-color: #584a49;\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" src=\"https:\/\/gbc1.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/SIWG-02W-jpg.webp\" alt=\"US-AU SIWG Roundtable on the Margins of UNGA81\" class=\"not-transparent wp-image-40965\" srcset=\"https:\/\/gbc1.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/SIWG-02W-jpg.webp 640w, https:\/\/gbc1.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/SIWG-02W-300x169.webp 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 640px) 100vw, 640px\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">US-AU SIWG Roundtable on the Margins of UNGA81<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n<p>The meeting reviewed progress on the previously identified projects based on the AU&#8217;s Program for Infrastructure Development in Africa (<a href=\"http:\/\/au-pida.org\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">PIDA<\/a>) list.
