To that effect, India has put forward of initiatives to support Climate Action as follows:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>Interntional Solar Alliance (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.isolaralliance.org\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">ISA<\/a>)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Coalition for Disaster Resilient Infrastructure (<a href=\"https:\/\/gbc1.net\/index.php\/tag\/cdri\/\">#CDRI<\/a>)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>National Green Hydrogen Mission<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The G20 makes up 2\/3 of the world population, 75% of global trade and 85% of global GDP. The G20 is collectively responsible for 80% of the cumulative Greenhouse Gases (GHG) emissions. Progress toward NetZero has been slow and arduous: current commitments will only reduce emissions by 10% by 2030, well short of what is necessary to constrain global warming under the stated goal of 1.5 degrees Celsius.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>So far, India has hosted 4 sessions of the Working Group for Environment and Climate Sustainability since the beginning of 2023.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For 2022, the estimated GHG emissions is about 58 gigatonnes (GT). However, to keep Global Warming under 1.5C, the world must cut down emissions by at least 3 GT annually for the next three decades. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Several countries have called for the Common But Differentiated Responsibilities and Respective Capabilities (<a href=\"https:\/\/gbc1.net\/index.php\/tag\/cbdrrc\/\">#CBDRRC<\/a>) when it comes to the fight against <a href=\"https:\/\/gbc1.net\/index.php\/tag\/climatechange\/\">#ClimateChange<\/a>. Thus, the current stage of development and actual situation of a particular country must be taken into account when setting its Nationally Determined Contributions (<a href=\"https:\/\/gbc1.net\/index.php\/tag\/ndc\/\">#NDC<\/a>) and other targets.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full\"><img data-dominant-color=\"cce2c3\" data-has-transparency=\"false\" style=\"--dominant-color: #cce2c3;\" decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"700\" height=\"400\" src=\"https:\/\/gbc1.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/08\/G20-Green-Finance-700x400-1-jpg.webp\" alt=\"\" class=\"not-transparent wp-image-5228\" srcset=\"https:\/\/gbc1.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/08\/G20-Green-Finance-700x400-1-jpg.webp 700w, https:\/\/gbc1.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/08\/G20-Green-Finance-700x400-1-300x171.webp 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 700px) 100vw, 700px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n<p>At <a href=\"https:\/\/gbc1.net\/index.php\/tag\/cop27\/\">#COP27<\/a> in Egypt in 2022, the setting up of the Loss and Damage Fund (LDF) was deemed as a major breakthrough. However, the operationalization of the LDF is still in at the start of the learning curve with rules and criteria still to be hashed out. Thus, coal-rich countries such as China, South Africa and Indonesia are reluctant to abandon coal immediately. Similarly, Small Island Developing States (<a href=\"https:\/\/gbc1.net\/index.php\/tag\/sids\/\">#SIDS<\/a>) are under threat to be submerged by the rising ocean but have limited resources and capabilities to fight this negative of Climate Change on their own.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Nevertheless, there appears to be some momentum for <a href=\"https:\/\/gbc1.net\/index.php\/tag\/goodgovernance\/\">#GoodGovernance<\/a> to adopt <a href=\"https:\/\/gbc1.net\/index.php\/tag\/esg\/\">#ESG<\/a> frameworks.
