Gunvor Signs Long-Term Offtake from Delfin LNG Project
On 6 May 2026, Gunvor Group and Delfin Midstream signed a Sale and Purchase Agreement (SPA) in Houston, Texas. Based on the offtake agreement, Delfin LNG LLC, a subsidiary of Delfin Midstream Inc., will supply 300,000 tonnes of LNG per annum to Guvnor on a free-on-board basis for a period of 20 years. The gas is expected to come from the Delfin floating LNG facility off the coast of Louisiana.
This new agreement follows a similar one signed between the two companies in November 2023. Previously, the Agreement was for a volume of up to one million tonnes per annum for a minimum duration of 15 years.
“We look forward to building on our longstanding partnership with Gunvor as we continue to advance the development of critical energy infrastructure in the U.S. This additional agreement further highlights our strength as a dependable long-term supplier of clean and scalable LNG solutions.”
Delfin CEO Dudley Poston

“We are very pleased to announce another long-term partnership with Delfin. The deal represents further enhancement of Gunvor’s LNG portfolio and together with our robust fleet, we will continue to position ourselves as a reliable supplier of LNG to all destinations around the globe.”
Delfin Head of LNG Trading Kalpesh Patel
Gunvor is a one of the world’s largest independent commodities trading houses by turnover, generating USD 144 billion in revenue in 2025. Delfin is a leading LNG developer and is currently implementing the Delfin FLNG project off Louisiana with a capacity of 13.2 million tonnes per annum.
The Delfin FLNG Project was expected to reach Final Investment Decision in February 2026. However, the UTOS pipeline experienced an explosion in that month and plans had to be revisited. Now, the US Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) has allowed an extension for Delfin to commence operations by the end of September 2027, at the latest.
