CCPIT Tours Africa to Boost China-Africa Economic Partnership

AFRICA TOUR 2024 BY CCPIT

From 17 to 22 January 2024, the Vice-Chairman of China Council for Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) Mr ZHANG Shaogang led a delegation of businesspersons on a tour of African countries. The itinerary included Mauritius, Egypt.

The Chinese delegation took the opportunity to invite the business community in the visited country to key trade fairs and international conferences which will be held in China during the course of 2024, notably the China-Africa Entrepreneurs Forum, China International Supply Chain Expo (CISCE), Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (#FOCAC) Summit and so on.

MAURITIUS

From 17 to 19 January 2024, the CCPIT delegation first visited Mauritius. During their time in Mauritius, they paid a visit to Minister of Commerce Dr (Mrs) Dorine CHUKOWRY, the Economic Development Board of Mauritius (EDBmu) and the Mauritius Chamber of Commerce and Industry. The discussions centered around leveraging the China-Mauritius #FTA to boost trade and investment. They also scheduled a visit to the JinFei #SmartCity.

The visit by the Chinese business delegation follows in the steps of the recent roadshow in China led by the Mauritian Minister of Financial Services Mr Mahen Seeruttun.

EGYPT

New CBD Built by CSCEC in Egypt

From 20 to 22 January 2024, the CCPIT delegation was in Egypt. During their stay in Egypt, they took part in a China-Egypt Business Forum where VP Zhang delivered a keynote address. The Chinese delegation had working sessions with the Federation of Egyptian Chambers of Commerce (FEDCOC).

The delegation also held discussions with Chinese enterprises operating in Egypt. They also paid a visit to the new Central Business District (CBD) in the outskirts east of of the Capital Cairo that is being built by Chinese State Construction Engineering Corporation (CSCEC).
