JASAN Breaks Ground for Factory in Qantara Industrial Park

On 10 August 2026, Zhejiang Jiansheng Group, also known as JASAN, held a groundbreaking ceremony for its textile project at the Qantara West Industrial Zone in Egypt.

JASAN plans a vertically integrated textile value chain from spinning, weaving, dyeing to sewing. 90% of the production is destined for exports, with the remaining 10% serving the local market.

The first phase of the Project is to develop a garment factory with an area of 300,000 square meters. The Project is broken down in three phases and will bring in a total of USD 117 million in Foreign Direct Investment (FDI). Eventually, the Project will create 6,000 direct jobs.

ZHANG Maoyi, Chairperson of JASAN, highlighted Egypt’s geostrategic location and extensive free trade agreements as key reasons for his company’s decision. On the other hand, Gamal El-Din, Chairperson of the Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZone) reiterated that objective of his organization to transform Qantara Industrial Park into a manufacturing hub for textile. He also underlined that all the industrial parks, managed by SCZone, have managed to attract USD 7.3 billion in investments across 117 projects during the fiscal year 2025/26.

In the case of the Qantara Industrial Park, there are already 54 projects from nine different countries. The cumulated FDI is roughly USD 1.5 billion and it is estimated that these investments will create up to 70,000 jobs. The textile sector represents the largest share, with 43 projects.
