Star Garments Officially Starts Production in Togo

On 19 June 2025, Togolese President Faure Gnassingbe officially inaugurated the Star Garments Factory at the Adetikope Industrial Platform with great fanfare. The new plant required a Foreign Direct Investment (#FDI) of FCFA 13 billion (€20M) from american firm Charles Komar & Sons, which is the parent company of Start Garments.

The employee is forecasted to exceed 2,000 by the end of 2025. By 2030, the number of direct and indirect jobs created is expected to surpass 4,500, with at least 60% being women.

The factory covers an area of 3.7 hectares and is #LEED-certified in line with the Green Textile transformation of the textile industry. The implementation of a Star Garments in Togo was made possible by a loan of USD 15 million from the #IFC.
