Wabtec Seals its Largest $700M Services Agreement in Africa with TransGuinean
On 21 September 2026, the Westinghouse Air Brake Technologies Corporation (Wabtec, NYSE: WAB) signed a services agreement with the Compagnie TransGuinéene (CTG) worth USD 700 million. The Agreement requires Wabtec to take charge of the Operations and Maintenance (O&M) of the strategic Simandou-Morebaya railway line over a 15-year term.

Previously, CTG had ordered 153 Wabtec Evolution Series ES43AC locomotives, of which 43 have already been delivered. These were immediately put into service on the railway line linking #Simandou in eastern Guinea to the new seaport of Morebaya. The heavy-haul rail spans over 600 kilometers in length and is the main means of transport for the iron ore extracted from Simandou mines.

The rolling stock supplied by Wabtec to CTG was already worth some USD 525 million, thus bringing Wabtec’s deals in Guinea to more than USD 1.2 billion. Wabtec has outsourced the manufacturing of the rolling stock to its factory in India.
