In a press release issued on 21 August 2025, the Export and Import Bank of the United States of America (EXIMUS) announced that its Board of Directors approved USD 514 million in financing to support American exports and jobs. USD 448 million has been earmarked as guarantee to allow Pennsylvania-based Wabtec to export locomotive kits to Kazakhstan, and USD 66 million is going to support the setting up of the National Data Center in Cote d’Ivoire by Cybastion, based in Washington DC.

“Today’s approvals underscore EXIM’s commitment to supporting nearly 1,300 quality jobs across the United States—from small business innovators in Washington, DC, to skilled manufacturing workers in Pennsylvania. By backing U.S. companies in strategic sectors like data infrastructure and rail, these transactions strengthen our economic competitiveness, expand American exports, and ensure that American workers—not competitors in China—remain at the forefront of global trade.”

The credit is provided under EXIMUS’s China and Transformational Exports Program (#CTEP) and is also in line with the Presidential strategy to ‘Make America Great Again (#MAGA)’. In addition, it will serve to counter the growing influence of China around the world by promoting American technology and solutions.
