US Sealed $175B Tech Prosperity Deal During Trump’s State Visit to UK
At the invitation of King Charles, US President Donald Trump undertook a state visit to UK from 16 to 18 September 2025. It is the second time that Trump officially visits UK in his capacity as President of the USA. At the end of the visit, US President Donald Trump and UK PM Keir Starmer held a joint press briefing at Chequers in Buckinghamshire.
President Trump announced that both sides sealed a Technology Prosperity Deal whereby US companies will invest, mostly in #AI projects in the UK, to the tune of USD 175 billion (£131B). The deal will ensure the leadership of US and UK in key areas such as high-technologies, defense, and life sciences.

PM Starmer underlined the unique relationship between UK and USA and the top position that the US holds within UK’s foreign policy. US is the top defense partner of the UK, US is the top trading partner of UK, and US is the top technology provider to the UK. Trump also took the opportunity to remind the media that his mother hailed from Scotland.
In line with the tech-themed visit, Trump brought along the Who’s Who of the tech world in the official delegation. To name a few, OpenAI CEO Sam Altman, Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang, Apple CEO Tim Cook, Google President Ruth Porat, and Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella made a noted appearance during the royal banquet at Windsor Castle.
