Conoil and TotalEnergies Sign Contract to Boost Oil Output in Nigeria
On 13 November 2025 at TotalEnergies HQ in Paris, Conoil and TotalEnergies signed a contract to boost the oil and gas output in Nigeria. Conoil was represented by its Chairman Mike Adenuga Jr., while TotalEnergies was represented by its Chairman and CEO Patrick Pouyanne.
The partnership will contribute to reach Nigeria’s goal to achieve a production of 1.8 million barrels per day. The Contract covers both onshore and offshore fields and involves both oil and gas.

Conoil has a portfolio of oil blocks in the Niger Delta. On the other hand, TotalEnergies is present in Nigeria for more than six decades. In May 2025, the Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission (NUPRC) congratulated Conoi on the successful shipment of an ultra-low sulphur medium-seeet crude, known as the Obodo blend.
Despite a challenging thrid quarter of 2025 for both companies, this landmark deal is a mark of confidence on the upstream side of business. On the downstream side, Dangote is building a refinery in Lekki that will eventually fulfill the needs of Nigeria, with more to spare for exports.
