Mauritius, First African Country to Join OECD

During visit of the OECD SG Mathias Cormann in Mauritius at the end of October 2022, he noted that Mauritius is a valued member of the OECD Development Centre since 2009.

Mauritius is fully engaged with the efforts of the #OECD to reform the international tax system “to make it fairer and work better in a globalized and digitalized world economy.”

The OECD Investment Committee recently approved for Mauritius to start the process of acceding to the OECD Declaration on International Investment. At the end of the process, Mauritius will become the first country from Africa to join the OECD.

The #MauritiusIFC is also positioning itself as the jurisdiction of choice to attract and structure investment into Africa.
