Indian Business Delegation on Exploratory Mission in Cameroon
From 20 to 24 September 2024, the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) and the Commonwealth Enterprise and Investment Council (CWEIC) organized a business delegation to Cameroon.
During the visit in the Cameroon, they had the honor to meet with the Prime Minister Joseph Ngute and seven other ministries, including Public Works, Energy & Water, Mines & Industry, Trade & Commerce, Transport, Education and Finance. The Indian High Commissioner of India in Cameroon is also the Chairman of the Cameroon-Gabon-Togo CWEIC Hub and played a key role in putting together this mission.
During their interaction with the Government of Cameroon, the Indian delegation took good note of the National Development Strategy (#NDS) of Cameroon up to the year 2030.
Based on 2022 figures, India is the 2nd export destination of Cameroon with the top 5 being The Netherlands, India, France, Spain and Italy. Cameroon exports consists mainly of crude oil, LNG and cocoa.
The Cameroon’s Investment Promotion Agency facilitated a Business Matchmaking Session which saw the participation of more than 200 businessmen. In addition, the delegation had working sessions with the Port Authority of Douala, the Cameroon Chamber of Commerce, and other business organizations.
