US DFC Approves More Than $8B in New Investments

On 16 September 2026, the US International Development Finance Corporation (DFC) announced that its Board has approved more than USD 8 billion in new investments. The new projects are in line with President Trump’s #AmericaFirst policy by bolstering exports and technology while securing energy and minerals.

Due to the sensitive nature of some of the projects, some details have not been disclosed. DFC is providing USD 155 million in equity finance to WIOCC Group to extend terrestrial and submarine fiber networks across Africa. Vodafone Ukraine is receiving USD 350 million in financing fo deploy trusted 5G mobile infrastructure.

The National Carrier Project Company is receiving a loan and political risk insurance from DFC to expand seawater desalination and conveyance systems. DFC is financing a mining project in West Africa to secure #CriticalMinerals for the US.

Last but not least, DFC is providing a counter-guarantee up to USD 500 million to the International Finance Corporation (IFC) to support its Global Trade Finance Program. The financing facility is expected to unlock USD 20 billion of US exports to emerging markets.
